School Garden Project

seedy4This is the sixteenth year that the PIFI will be providing seeds and plants to all the students of Pender Island Elementary school to encourage them to garden and to participate in our Fall Fair. Each student will be given one tomato plant and one seed potato. As well, they can also grow zucchini, pole beans, bush beans and nasturtiums. It is our hope that they will grow these plants out to maturity and enter them in the Fall Fair in Section L (Young People’s Agriculture) either in the Garden Division or the Education Division or at least give them to their mother for a Mother’s Day Present!
