Seedy Saturday with Heartwood’s Beekeeping Workshop March 18th

Seedy Saturday Participants ! This year Seedy Saturday (SS) is on March 18th at the Community Hall. Sanae Kikuchi and Monica Petrie are co coordinators. In order to cover set up, rental and advertising  costs, we will charge a $5.00 registration fee to be collected at the door. The Farmers Institute has rented the downstairs main room from 9:00 to 1:00.  Doors will open at 10:00. As Heartwood Folk School has rented the upstairs room for a workshop on Beekeeping, we will be sharing the downstairs space with 12 Winter Market vendors. We will make the layout as equitable as possible for all. Tables will be set up and taken down for you. There are 19 tables available. Some of you might like to be outdoors, weather permitting. UPDATE: Seedy Saturday was well attended with 250 plus people coming through.  There were 10 vendors plus 4 information tables: Invasive Plants, Master Gardener, Seed Swap, Kid's Activities.   $64 was raised for USC Canada's Seeds of Survival Program, selling packets of been seeds.   The Community Garden raised $400 for the Food Bank, and will donate leftover plants to the Food Bank clients.  The event was partnered with the Winter Market and with Heartwood Folk School's pollinator workshop.
